Marta Kahancova delivers a speech at the annual conference of the Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaf­tliches Institut (WSI) of the Hans Boeckler Foundation, Duesseldorf, Germany. The theme of the two-day conference (27.-28.9.2011) is the Stabilisation of the Extension System of Collective Agreements in Germany. Invited experts from several European countries summarize the national practice of extension mechanisms, thereby contributing with a variety of experiences to the German debate between researchers, policy makers, and social partners. Marta Kahancova's pre­sentation titled ‚From Extension to Dilution: Experiences with the Extension of Higher-Level Collective Agreements in Slovakia‘ accounts for recent developments on the Slovak extension mechanism and the surrounding discourse between the government, employers, trade unions and the public.
