Monika Martišková is a researcher and journalist at CELSI and a PhD. candidate at the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She is involved in the WageIndicator project where she is responsible for press releases and articles on wages and working conditions. Her research concentrates on labour markets, active labour market policies, regional development and regional differences within the EU. In 2010 she graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava with specialization in public administration and regional development. She also worked at the Department of Public administration and regional development at the University of Economics in Bratislava as project coordinator. She was responsible for coordination of projects from 6th and 7th framework programs of the European Commission. Since 2008 she cooperates with the Employment Institute in Bratislava as junior researcher. In 2006 and 2007 she worked for the Press agency of Slovak republic (Tlačová agentúra Slovenskej republiky – TASR) as redactor in the Economic department. Monika worked on several studies and projects on vocational training and its labour market effects, economic effects of migration in Slovakia and active labour market policy in Slovakia. She published several articles about labour markets in the Slovak weekly newspaper Slovo.
