Join the Discussion on the Platform Work Directive: Register Now for the Bratislava Workshop

Published on May 7, 2024

story.title

On April 24, 2024, the European parliament approved the Platform Work Directive, aiming to improve the working conditions of platform workers. The focus is on a correct classification of employment status vs. self-employment. The Directive for the first time ever regulates the use of algorithms in relation to work and working conditions.

What are the conditions in which the Directive will be implemented, and what is the perception of stakeholders in selected EU Member States on the Directive and its effects?

This workshop brings together various perspectives on the conditions in which the Directive will be implemented. Discussions on the legal status of platform workers, on the position of platforms vis-à-vis workers, or the co-existence of legal regulation with collective bargaining, yield relevant questions and opportunities for the trajectory towards implementing the new Directive across the EU Member States.

The workshop offers insights into the diversity of implications of the Directive and facilitates an international expert and stakeholder discussion on regulating the working conditions in platforms.
