CELSI Director Marta Kahancová at SASE 2025: Leading Global Dialogue on Fair Wages and Labour Standards
Published on July 15, 2025
At this year’s SASE Conference in Montréal, CELSI Managing Director Marta Kahancová made a remarkable contribution by presenting multiple papers and chairing sessions on some of today’s most pressing labour issues.
Held at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal, Québec, Marta engaged with a diverse community of international scholars, sharing new insights and research results from CELSI, as well as from the WageIndicator Foundation.
Her presentations examined wage bargaining trends across nine European countries and four sectors, analysed labour standards and social dialogue in the Global South’s garment industry, and introduced the “Living Tariff” concept as a benchmark for fair pay in the gig economy.
In addition to presenting, Marta moderated a high-level Book Salon session on the ILO’s Social Dialogue Report 2024, sparking critical discussion about the role of peak-level social dialogue in addressing global socio-economic challenges.
We’re proud to see CELSI’s leadership and research helping shape the global conversation on decent work, institutional innovation, and the future of labour standards.

The report explores the critical role of 'peak-level' social dialogue (PLSD) in advancing economic and social development, driving the continuing environmental and digital transitions, and accelerating progress towards the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
