EcoMobility Transition: Strengthening a Just Transition in the Automotive Industry
CELSI researcher Pavol Bors attended the EUKI Regional Networking Event in Prague on 13 November 2025
Nov. 18, 2025
The event brought together EUKI project partners, policy-makers and civil society actors from Slovakia and Czechia to reflect on how climate action can be sustained despite political turbulence.
In his opening remarks, Peter Reuss, German Ambassador in Prague, emphasised that “co-creation is crucial and essential in the fight against climate change”, highlighting EUKI’s work across both EU and Western Balkan countries to foster integration, shared learning and mutual understanding. He added that it is always “worth to work on measures against climate change.”
Participants explored how to enhance the impact of climate projects, strengthen cross-border cooperation, and advance renewable energy, sustainable mobility and community energy solutions.
Workshops offered hands-on insights — from effective climate communication led by the STEM Institute for Empirical Research to practical sessions on energy communities and urban mobility solutions, facilitated by SAPI - Slovak Association of Sustainable Energy, and CDE – Center for Transport and Energy.
A gallery walk showcasing all the active EUKI-supported projects from both countries provided further inspiration and shared learning for the participants, during which our colleague Pavol Bors showcased our project, EcoMobility Transition (link here: https://ecomobility-transition.celsi.sk/).
Theevent underscored both the challenges and the resilience of climate actors in the region, reaffirming their crucial role in driving Europe’s green transition forward.
The CELSI research group would like to thank the organisers (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Coversion and Nuclear Safety, EUKI – European Climate Initiative Academy, and CDE – Center for Transport and Energy) for organising this interesting and fruitful event.
