DEEPLAB: Implications of deep decarbonization of the high emission industries on labour market and employees
Decarbonising Slovakia’s power sector: jobs, skills and policies up to 2050 (VIDEO)
Feb. 10, 2026
How will the decarbonisation of Slovakia’s electricity sector affect employment by 2050?
What is the job-creation potential under different decarbonisation pathways, what skills will be needed, and which policies must support employers and public institutions?
These were the core questions discussed at CELSI’s DEEPLAB research seminar in Bratislava on January 29, 2026, where we presented model-based estimates of employment impacts of power sector decarbonisation and debated how to ensure that the green transition delivers attractive and quality jobs.
The discussion has also resonated beyond the event itself. Key findings and debates were reflected in specialised and policy-oriented media Euractive.sk and ePráca Online, contributing to the broader expert discussion on energy transition and labour markets in Slovakia.
