DEEPLAB: Implications of deep decarbonization of the high emission industries on labour market and employees

WEBINAR: Decarbonising Slovakia and Employment in the Automotive Sector

March 24, 2026

📅 March 31, 2026 | 🕙 14:00 – 15:00 | 📍 online

The automotive industry is a key pillar of the Slovak economy, yet its transition towards zero-emission mobility raises fundamental questions for the labour market.

👉 We invite you to the final event in the DEEPLAB research seminar series, where we will present results focused on the automotive sector.

CELSI researchers Monika Martišková, Jakub Barszcz and Paulína Bobčeková will present four decarbonisation scenarios for the Slovak automotive industry and their implications for:

  • labour demand
  • the skills structure of the workforce
  • the future of jobs up to 2050

The discussion will also address which policies and measures are needed to manage this transition successfully.

📊 The event builds on previous seminars on the power and industrial sectors and concludes the DEEPLAB results presentation series.

👉 Registration is open: https://forms.gle/FboGcCBYTTpBRAKD7

📌 The DEEPLAB project focuses on the economic consequences of decarbonisation and its labour market impacts, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors and their value chains in Slovakia.

It is supported by the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic.
