EUKI: Just Transition in the European Car Industry
CELSI researcher Pavol Bors took an EUKI Academy Study Tour in Brussels focused on Green Transition

From June 3rd to5th, CELSI researcher Pavol Bors participated in an inspiring international study tour organised by EUKI – European Climate Initiative and the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).
The Brussels-based tour explored key topics of the green transition, from carbon pricing and social climate funding to the decarbonisation of the heating and transport sectors.
The study tour focused on the following main issues and topics:
✔️ Expert discussions on the EU Social Climate Fund and ETS2, with insights from policymakers and civil society actors.
✔️ A session at the European Economic and Social Committee, addressing the shrinking space for civil society, its role in EU climate policymaking, and the role of misinformation in climate policymaking.
✔️ Exchange with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on scaling up renewable energy in rural areas.
✔️ A field visit to the Community Land Trust in Molenbeek, showcasing affordable and sustainable housing solutions through community land ownership.
✔️Expert discussions on strategies and potential development scenarios in the decarbonisation of heating and cooling and the European transport sector.
🗣 "The topics discussed were extremely pertinent to our project, EcoMobility Transition, along with various initiatives in our green team. This event provided a valuable chance to engage with experts and EU-level policymakers, allowing us to share insights and expertise while integrating multiple facets of climate policy,” said Pavol Bors.
