SEAD: Enhancing socio-ecological dialogue in the automotive industry
Identifying current threats and challenges of the Czech automotive industry in Prague
Feb. 9, 2026
CELSI researcher Adam Šumichrast presented preliminary research findings at the first national foresight workshop for Czech social partners, held in Prague on February 2, 2026 within the SEAD project – Enhancing Socio-Ecological Dialogue in the Automotive Industry.
His presentation drew on desk research, online surveys and interviews, mapping EU and national-level policies and identifying gaps within them.
It was followed by a participatory workshop facilitated by České priority, focusing on identifying current threats and challenges facing the automotive industry and brainstorming possible responses.
The SEAD project supports employers and trade unions in Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary in strengthening social dialogue and shaping policies addressing digitalisation, automation and decarbonisation in the automotive sector.
Within the project, CELSI leads the analysis of policy processes and social dialogue, and contributes to strategic planning and capacity building.
The Czech workshop is the first in a series – foresight meetings will also take place in Hungary and Slovakia in the coming weeks.
SEAD project partners include CELSI, České priority, WageIndicator Foundation, NELA, Odborový zväz KOVO, Zväz strojárskeho priemyslu SR, MGYOSZ / BusinessHungary, Vasas Szakszervezeti Szövetség, together with EU-level partners industriAll Europe and CEEMET.
