When examining data on the employment of persons with disabilities (PwDs) across the EU, the disability employment gap for the EU27 stood at 21.4% in 2022, having decreased only slightly from 22.7% in 2014, implying that overall, there is still a long way to go to bring more PwDs into the labour market.
This Thematic Review, published by the Publications Office of the European Union, aims to identify policy frameworks and effective incentives available in the 27 EU Member States (MS) to activate and integrate persons with disabilities (PwDs) into the labour market and keep them in employment.
This synthesis report was produced by the European Centre of Expertise (ECE) in the field of Employment and Labour Market Policies, based on unpublished country articles for the 27 EU Member States, prepared by independent experts from the ECE pool of labour market experts, as well as background provided by the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (European Commission).
