The Slovak news portal EUBrief/SME published an article on one of the key topics we addressed the conference, organised by CELSI, on the decarbonisation of Slovak industry and the labour market.
We are pleased that the research findings and discussions from the conference organised by the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) are finding an audience in specialised media outlets.
The Slovak news portal EUBrief/SME published an article on one of the key topics we addressed together with a diverse range of experts: the tension between European pressure to accelerate the green transition and the capacity of Slovak industry to keep up.
Some Slovak industrial companies fear that EU policy plans for introducing low-emission technologies are not sufficiently realistic — whether in terms of permitting or the actual construction of large industrial facilities with greener technologies.
EUBrief also highlighted a point raised by one of our conference panellists: the success of decarbonisation should not be measured solely by the number of jobs preserved, but by the economy's ability to increase productivity and generate higher added value.
These were among the topics we discussed on 5 June in Bratislava — and the issues appear to be growing ever more pressing and urgent.
