CELSI founder and director Kahanec appointed to the Council of the Slovak Government for Science, Technology and Innovation

CELSI founder and director Martin Kahanec has been appointed by the Slovak Government as a member of its Council for Science, Technology and Innovation. The Council is the central coordinating and advisory body of the Government of the Slovak Republic for the creation of policy in the field of research, development and innovation. Its task is to coordinate the cooperation of ministries, other central state administration bodies, the sector of universities, the sector of public research institutions, the business sector and the non-profit sector in the field of research, development and innovation. The Council coordinates the fulfillment of goals and tasks resulting from the National Strategy for Research, Development and Innovation and manages the strategy of intelligent specialization.

The Government Council has 15 members. The Chairperson of the Council of Government is the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, the vice-chairpeople are the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sports, the Minister of the Economy, the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization. The other ten members of the council are prominent experts in the field of research, development and innovation, innovation management, venture capital or research and innovation policy-making with international experience, who are appointed and recalled by the government on the proposal of the chairman of the council on the basis of excellence and professional experience acquired in the relevant field.
