CELSI research on AI and algorithmic management featured in e-Práca

The article in e-Práca, the news portal of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic (KOZ SR), focuses on a new CELSI research report by CELSI researcher Daryn Zholdasbay.

Algorithms increasingly assign tasks, monitor workers and evaluate performance. Who gets a say in the rules?

e-Práca, the news portal of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic (KOZ SR), has published an article by Miroslav Hajnoš, International Secretary of KOZ SR and member of the European Economic and Social Committee.

The article is based on a new CELSI research report by CELSI researcher Daryn Zholdasbay.

The report builds on his Master's thesis at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava and compares how social partners in Slovakia and Italy approach artificial intelligence and algorithmic management.

In Italy, the topic has reached collective agreements at sectoral and company level, where social partners directly co-create the rules.

In Slovakia, participation so far remains mostly consultative.

The report's main finding is that a new policy issue does not automatically strengthen social partners' role in policymaking, but it does create an opportunity.
