CELSI COVID-19 Response Team launched to provide robust evidence for effective policy response to the COVID-19 crisis

The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemics is a global challenge that affects us all. During times like these, we need to act together.

We call on all research institutions to enable their workers to work from home and minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Researchers, with their frequent travels and collaborations with colleagues from abroad, are a particularly vulnerable group. Please, act responsibly and stay safe.

We would like to thank all who are interested in attending the CELSI workshop on “Closing gender pay gap in the context of austerity” in April in Bratislava. CELSI tries to contribute to the containment of the COVID-19, and therefore postponed the workshop as a precautionary measure. The event is anticipated to be held in June. The specific date will be announced in due course.

Barbora Holubová, CELSI´s researcher, attended a workshop hosted by ADAPT (Italy) on closing the gender pay gap (GPG) in public services in the context of austerity by identifying complex causes of its persistence.

CELSI's Marta Kahancova, Tibor Meszmann and Maria Sedlakova just published their new article " Precarization via Digitalization? Work Arrangements in the On-Demand Platform Economy in Hungary and Slovakia" in Frontiers in Sociology.

CELSI's researchers Barbora Holubová and Jakub Kostolný participated in the London workshop on the gender pay gap (GPG) in public services and trade unions´ strategies on how to close it.

She presented results from CELSI´s earlier project PRECARIR devoted to precarious work and social partners responses in Czechia and Slovakia and other CEE countries.

CELSI's researcher Maria Sedlakova met with ARTUS-CEE project partners in Bucharest to discuss trade unions' strategies on key issues in European social dialogue.
